Classical piano music inspired by folk music

I hope you find something fresh and new here.

I trained as a classical pianist at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK. Having done so, I always want to write music which feels right under the fingers and which also feels satisfying to play in terms of the harmonies, textures and challenges.

I've always enjoyed singing and especially love the sounds of the various modes used within the world of folk music. And so I've wanted to incorporate these sounds within my music. I also love being away from the rush of the city and getting out into the countryside; our favourite places being up on the fells of the Lake District or Derbyshire. As well as composing music I'm also interested in breathing some fresh air into old, well known folk melodies, arranging them for piano.

Hopefully my music will provide some light relief for students who are inbetween the more advanced grades, and also some easy listening music suitable for including in a concert.

Please do leave feedback, either here or on my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2cuBxlJ6dz5NSY5HLgwBuQ    - positive criticism or suggestions are always welcome!
